Steef Steeneken

Senior Scientific Manager 

Steef has been the commercial and energy manager of aluminium smelter Damco (NL) since June 2021. Prior to Damco Steef has worked for Nyrstar Sales and Marketing where he was responsible for worldwide business development sales of Nyrstar’s by-products. Until 2019 Steef worked in several positions at the Dutch Nyrstar smelter where 300ktons per annum of primary zinc is produced including production manager and interim plant manager. As interim plant manager Steef was also responsible for the Norwegian Hoyanger plasma smelter where Nyrstar treated leach products.  

After graduation Steef started working in Montreal, Canada at an engineering company specialized in building of Magnesium smelters and recycling facilities. Steef graduated from Delft University of Technology, NL, and holds a MSc Degree in Mineral and Metallurgical Engineering (2004).
