Piet-Jan Vet

Piet-Jan studied in Delft, the Netherlands and has a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialised in material handling) and worked for some 40 years in the metallurgical industry. He worked for 15 years for Shell-Billiton in operational and managerial position in Brazil, Columbia, Thailand, and the Netherlands. He was from 1995-2000 Managing Director of Alpha Fry Technology in Naarden, NL (Electronic solder producer in the Netherlands – a Cookson Electronics Subsidiary), and from 2000-2005 Managing Director of Outokumpu Copper HME (Coper tube extrusion plant in the Netherlands– an Outokumpu subsidiary). In 2005 he joined Nyrstar Budel Zink and worked in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Norway.

Since his retirement Q4 2018 he is engaged with Metalot in Budel, NL, a cooperation between the Technical University Eindhoven, Province of Noord Brabant, municipality of Cranendonck and Nyrstar. As scientific institute, Metalot and its partners are focused on innovations in the field of the transition to renewable energy sources and metals.  Piet-Jan is a Dutch national.
