Cris Copini

Chief Technology Officer

Cris Copini worked for more than 30 years at Nyrstar, at the zinc smelters in Budel (NL) and in Hobart (Australia). He held various roles in the Technology Department, from Technologist to Manager Technology. This makes Cris experienced in all aspects of zinc production, ranging from optimization of roaster operations to complicated change over for the leach circuit. He also held roles as project manager (development and construction of a biological wastewater treatment plant) and as Operations Manager (responsible for the operation of the whole plant).

Cris is also the founder of the consultancy CopiniMetCon, which focuses on technical aspects of zinc metal production. He is a Dutch national and holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Groningen, NL.
